Editorial policy

Our job is to explain money and retirement for Americans over 55 clearly and accurately. This page explains how we do it.

Research and sources

We base facts and figures on primary sources wherever possible: the Social Security Administration, the IRS, Medicare.gov and other government agencies, plus established research organizations. Every article lists its sources at the end.

Accuracy and updates

Each article shows the date it was last updated. When rules, limits or prices change, we review the affected articles. If you spot an error, email hello@goldfinchpost.com and we will correct it and note the correction.

Independence

Advertisers do not pay for, review or approve our articles. Ads are clearly labeled "Advertisement" and are kept separate from our content.

Use of AI tools

We use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help research and draft. Every article is checked by an editor against its sources before it is published.

Not financial advice

Our articles and quizzes are general information, not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Everyone's situation is different. Consider speaking with a qualified professional before making decisions.
